Universal closing "big deal" with Nintendo
Following the success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Illumination and Nintendo have garnered significant attention and sparked curiosity about their future plans. Both parties have previously hinted at the possibility of expanding into other Nintendo IPs through additional movies.
Now, it appears that a new development is on the horizon. Reports suggest that Illumination and Nintendo are nearing the finalization of a deal to produce a movie based on The Legend of Zelda. While specific details remain scarce at the moment, the imminent conclusion of the deal indicates that more information may emerge soon.
Well-respected film critic Jeff Sneider has shared that Universal and Illumination are on the verge of sealing a significant agreement with Nintendo for the adaptation of The Legend of Zelda. Sneider believes this news may not come as a complete surprise to many, given the growing interest in Nintendo's beloved franchise.
Sneider told The Hot Mic Podcast "Zelda is looking like the next big Illumination x Nintendo franchise".
Hope it will be good, but somehow I’m a bit worried about the voice acting. You can’t really go wrong much with Mario, but there was already some backlash there… imagine what happened when the fan base doesn’t like Link’s voice.
Metroid isn’t as popular as games franchise, but might be good as a games-independent horror/action/adventure movie…
We’ll see I guess…
